Before the workshop:
The students were given the information about the conducting of the Android workshop in our college by IIT, Kharagpur. Some of the students from each branch were appointed as organizers of this workshop. From my branch there were 2 students named Mohit Saxena and Apoorv Gaurav Kapri. They communicated with our entire branch and shared the benefit of attending the workshop. Some of the benefits were we would be taught by Samsung Galaxy Tab developers, will be getting an IIT, Kharagpur certificate of attending the workshop, will be able to get good quality knowledge about android, will be getting android too-kit free of cost. The interested students have to pay a total amount of Rs. 700/- and were told to bring their laptops.
On the 1st day of Android workshop:
The workshop started from 10:00AM and continued till 4:00 PM. First of all they introduced about what is android and its slight history. They shared their experiences in working with the android applications. Then they gave all the students the software on which we all will be working. They also gave the complete android tool-kit free of cost.
After all this they started with the development of small applications like how to display date and time on screen, how to create icons etc.
On 2nd day of Android workshop:
This started at 9:00AM and continued till 5:00 PM. They further told us about the "Eclipse 3.5" software for the development of android applications. They gave the Java code to students and students made them run on their laptops. They paid attention to all students and they made each and every student understand the concept clearly. The workshop was fabulous and we gained a lot of knowledge about the android.
Many students got the taste of android and are now interested in making their career in that field only.
