Recent researches said that taking enough rest can heal your damaged heart cells. According to the latest study, it is said that the cardiac cells which are damaged after heart failure, can be undone by providing enough rest to the heart muscles. Evaluations from an Imperial College London said that on their observations in rats, it was revealed that the damage of the heart muscles are not permanent as it was believed earlier. The latest study may clear path to several treatments in heart.

Heart failure refers to the incapability of the heart muscles to pump blood adequately resulting in a heart attack. According to a survey it is said that in UK alone, about 7,50,000 people are living with heart failure. European journal of heart failure stated that heart failure can cause risk of death in a span of one year which is even worse than the cancers.

Victims with advanced heart failure are sometimes assisted with a left ventricle assist device (LVAD). The LVAD is a small pump that accelerates the function of the heart and reduces pressure on the left ventricle, the biggest chamber of the heart, which pumps blood around the body's main circulation. Hearts are not able to rest properly as it has to pump blood continuously. But proper rest to heart muscles can heal the damaged heart muscles which are in a bad condition after a heart attack.
